Bernadette Peters
Bernadette Peters (nee Lazzara was born on February 28th 1948) is an American actor, singer and children's book writer. Over a career spanning over six decades she's been a part of the musical theatre, on television and in film, performed her own concerts, and released recordings. She is an acclaimed Broadway performer, receiving seven nominations for Tony Awards, winning two (plus an honorary award), and nine Drama Desk Award nominations, which she won three. Grammy Awards have been won through four of the Broadway album cast in which she has starred.
Peters is widely acknowledged as the most well-known interpreter of the works of Stephen Sondheim. Her roles on Broadway include Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (84), Song and Dance (1985), Into the Woods with George (87), The Goodbye Girl(93), Annie Get Your Gun 1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2009), Follies (2011) and Hello, Dolly (2018).
